Today, many cultures, cities and people of the past have been completely forgotten. Therefore, researchers often turn to art and inscriptions to learn more about life in antiquity. Some unusual findings can change the “facts” and even shed light on complex issues. The most remarkable discoveries are often accidental, and then scientists are amazed to discover both mysterious paintings and entire lost civilizations.
1. Frescoes in the octagonal tomb

Within the framework of the annual festival “Days of Ukraine in the UK”, which is held by the Firtash Foundation, in the London gallery Saatchi for the second time the official opening of the exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian art.
The exhibition “Foreboding: Ukrainian Art Today” brought together more than 30 artists, many of whom are exhibited in a foreign gallery for the first time. Therefore, the first thing about the exhibition and the desired topic I wanted to hear the opinion of artists.
We are in a different dimension, starting with prices and continuing with the mental scales that people think. It seems that expositionally they are also in a different dimension – they have more space, they freely play with it. I feel comfortable. Continue reading
Wealthy companies collect art for two reasons. Because they are responsible businessmen, investing part of superprofits in something rational, kind, eternal. And because works of art are a good investment. Over the years, cultural values go up. The collection of companies has more miscalculation than flavoring. The Louis Vuitton Foundation’s collection is generally a twentieth-century star. It is enough to simply list the names in order to understand whether it is necessary to go to the exhibition: Alberto Giacometti, Yves Klein, Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Christian Boltanski, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Marina Abramovich, Maurizio Cattelan, Andreas Gursky. All this luxury is a response gesture of the foundation to our Pushkin Museum to them. Pushkin, who in 2016-2017 sent his best works to the exhibition “Masterpieces of new painting.
